The Ballarat Tramway Museum is an operating tramway museum located in Wendouree Parade Ballarat within the renowned Botanic Gardens. It operates on part of the original horse tramway opened in 1887 and embodies the heritage of the Ballarat public transport system that closed in 1971. The museum is managed and operated by volunteers with a fleet of trams some over 100 years old, a large research collection and archives.
