The Burke Museum, Beechworth (Robert O'Hara Burke Memorial Museum established 1863) is of the oldest regional museums in Australia. It boast the largest Kelly gang collection based in the Ned Kelly Vault. It has an extensive gold collection, Chinese on the goldfields (including the rare and precious Chinese banners from the early 1870's.) The museum features themes on Burke, Medicine, War, Education, Toys and Music. A highlight is the collection of 19th Century antiquities and the Street of Shops remains a perennial favorite with visitors.
