The collection comprises artefacts and records of significance to the Maldon District, its people, events and activities. Several collecting themes are utilised; peopling the district, transforming and managing the land, governing, building community life, and contemporary events and developments. The collection material spans from prehistoric eras to the present day, however the bulk of the collection dates from the 1850s onwards. Our artefacts range from the unique and highly significant, for example the Amalgamated Miners' Association, Maldon Branch banner, artworks, maps and photographs, to the curious and commonplace items of work, home and play.
