The Gippsland Regional Maritime Museum located in the historic Bank Of Victoria building (1862) provides an excellent opportunity to delve into the colourful past of Port Albert and Gippsland's rich maritime history. 1841 to the present. The museum features displays from shipwrecks of the Gippsland coastline as well as the early days of Gippsland Gold discovery. The museum has as maritime artefacts and boat building tools. There is also a collection of shells and maritime navigation equipment from the 18th century to the modern day. The museum also has an extensive archival collection to cater for family and other research.
